Accessibility statement for The Sign Kid
The Sign Kid (thesignkid.com) publishes chrome emblem, letter and decal guides for Signs OverNITE. We want everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification or voice control, to be able to read these pages and reach our shops.
Our target
Our goal is for thesignkid.com to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. We have not had a formal third-party audit, so we do not claim full conformance. We describe this site as partially conformant: most content meets the target, and we fix problems as we find them.
What we have done
- Ran automated checks (axe-core and Lighthouse) on the home, gallery, articles and resources pages in October 2026 and fixed the colour-contrast and link-name issues they reported.
- Every page has a “Skip to content” link, one main heading, a labelled main menu and visible keyboard focus.
- Images in the gallery of chrome emblems, badges and fun decals have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Text and links are checked against the WCAG AA contrast ratio of 4.5:1 on our dark theme.
- The page language is set to English, the layout is responsive, and browser zoom is never blocked.
Known limitations
- Our checks were mostly automated with some manual keyboard testing; they have not yet been confirmed with every screen reader and browser combination.
- Photo captions describe each image briefly; some fine detail in sign and graphic photos is not described in full.
- Links to our online stores, and the “Design with Grok” and “Design with ChatGPT” links, open other websites that have their own accessibility policies, which we do not control on this site.
